1. What is a “rolling reservation”?
Rolling reservations are how you use the club! Use a rolling reservation to reserve a specific boat for a day & timeslot. The “rolling” aspect means that once you use & complete a reservation, it becomes free to be reserved again! We do not limit how many times a rolling reservation can be used, only the amount you can hold at one time.
EX: The Freedom Plan gives you 4 rolling reservations. You can have 4 different reservations in the system at once, and when you complete one, it frees up to be reserved again, an infinite number of times.
2. How much does it cost to join?
To become a member of Freedom Boat Club, there is a 1x entry fee to join ($3,500-$5,500), and then ongoing monthly membership dues to remain an active member with the club ($300-$400).
Contact our Membership Director for exact pricing and any active promotions offered.
.3. How does this all work?
We are a full-service club. Meaning we take care of everything for you, so you have more time to focus on actual boating! Simply make a reservation through the online system or mobile app, and when you arrive at the dock, our on-site team will have your reserved boat cleaned, fueled, and ready to go with concierge service. Our teams are committed to creating the red-carpet experience for all members!
4. Can I make reservations last-minute?
Absolutely! In fact, all members get UNLIMITED same-day reservations. These do not affect any future rolling reservations you may have already reserved.
5. Can I join with family and/or friends to split the membership and cost?
Yes! We do have a Friends & Family membership plan. Contact our Membership Director for exact pricing on this plan.
6. What does it cost to add my spouse to the membership?
Nothing! FBC memberships cover you & your spouse. Let our Membership Director know you would like to add your spouse when you join.
7. Do I need to bring safety equipment?
No! Every FBC boat comes equipped with the necessary safety equipment required by the Coast Guard, including adult life jackets, flares, distress flag, marine radios, and more. The only thing we don’t provide is children's life jackets, members need to bring one appropriate for their child.
We also outfit every boat with both a bow & stern anchor, 2 dock lines, 2 fenders, and a boat hook.
8. Do you provide water sports equipment?
Unfortunately, we cannot provide water sports equipment to members. These must be brought by the member or rented at the marina location.
Tubing, skiing, and other related watersports are absolutely allowed on FBC boats, we just can’t provide the equipment for it due to liability.
9. Is there a fee every time I use a boat?
No! As a member with FBC, you can use the boats as many times as you would like at no additional cost or limit. Fuel is the only thing you’ll be charged for when you use the club.
Think of your membership like a subscription to unlimited boating!
10. How difficult is getting a boat reserved?
FBC can provide same-day availability Mon-Fri all season long. Weekend reservations typically need 3-5 days in advance, depending on weather forecasts. Major Holiday weekends are 7-12 days in advance.
However, members can put their reservations into the system up to 6 months in advance!
11. How old are FBC Michiana boats?
We buy all of our boats brand new. Every year, there will be new boats that enter the fleet, giving members a constantly refreshed selection of boats to choose from!
12. How do you track and charge for fuel?
All of our vessels have state-of-the-art GPS unit trackers that track fuel usage to the thousandth decimal. We write down the fuel amount before you depart and again when you return, and our system automatically figures the difference and charges the credit card you have on file. Say good-bye to pumping gas at the gas dock.
